Marching Lynx 2018
Cirque du Soleil | La Nouba
The beginning of our marching season started out with summer sectionals and band camp. Occurring from August 13th-17th, the first two songs of the show, Distorted and Reve Rough, were drilled during band camp.
On October 6th, the marching band had their first competition at Glenwood's Loess Hills Field Fest. Performing as the only 4A band, the show was at 1:30. Soon after, awards were held where we won several titles: Best Overall Drumline, Best Overall Color Guard, Top 4A Band, and the Overall Best Marching Band out of the ten bands there.
On October 13th, the band headed to Treynor to perform for a rating from State. Not long after, we discovered that we earned a Division I Rating. That has been the Marching Lynx's 18 division ones in the past 19 years.
On that same day, we headed over to our final competition in Waukee where we found a very supportive crowd. Later, the seniors and captains gathered on the field to collect our 9th place overall award. Our drumline and color guard also earned 5th place spots.
